Spark your child’s creativity and love for nature! This hands-on adventure invites youth ages 7-12 yrs to dive into the world of natural dyes by exploring Textile Center’s Dye Garden and experimenting with plant-based colors. Participants will learn about the care and keeping of the Dye Garden while harvesting plants, learning to extract natural dyes, and using other plant-based pigment techniques to create a variety of stunning textiles! 

This 3-afternoon workshop for children ages 6-11 intertwines the historic Lake Minnetonka Streetcar Boats and the Twin Cities streetcar system from the 1900's with (1) creating unique maps of the Lake and coding Ozobot robots to travel our own streetcar boat routes, (2) paper-engineering 3-D pop-up cards and (3) creating a mixed media art piece all focusing on boats and water transportation.

Overnight camps provide an immersive experience for campers to explore the outdoors, make new friends and to discover their spark. Through team and individual activities, our program focuses on inclusion, nature, and character development led by caring and engaging camp counselors from all over the world. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities, spend the evening playing all-camp games, telling epic stories, and singing songs around the campfire before heading into rustic cabins for the night

The Performing Arts Division (PAD) summer programs are designed to expand upon MDT&S's classical ballet-based curriculum, seamlessly integrating contemporary dance styles, innovative choreography, and classical repertoire. All classes are led by the esteemed MDT faculty and exciting Guest Teachers, with live piano accompaniment enriching most classes.
