Slöjd Studio: Introduction to Kolrosing - American Swedish Institute
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 01/12/2025
Slöjd Studio is a monthly program for young makers in 3rd-5th grades. Participants practice slöjd techniques and explore new tools as they nurture their love for handcraft. Adults can not stay during the program. Museum admission is not included.
Discover kolrosing, the ancient Scandinavian art of wood decoration. Learn from ASI educator Jason Leuthold as you create your own designs using a kolrosing knife. Students will decorate a wooden tomte after they explore ASI’s holiday exhibition for inspiration. Note: Students must sign a waiver to participate in this hands-on workshop.
