Virtual Clay Club PUBLISHED |
Want to have some fun with clay as a part of your distance learning experience? Join us for Virtual Clay Club for some clay and play from a distance! Each week for four weeks, you will meet with an instructor virtually (live, not pre-recorded!) who will guide you through a variety of creative handbuilding projects. Make a cool cup to hold warm drinks for the winter and turn a jar into an animal. Parent or guardian guidance is encouraged for those under 9. Included with registration is 12 lbs of low-fire clay, a set of engobes (colored slips) for decorating, a guide to setting up a space for clay at home, and a link to your virtual class meeting each week. Pick up of kits and drop off completed work will take place curbside at NCC the week before and after classes begin. Day: Thursdays Dates: September 17 - October 8, October 15 - November 5, November 12 - December 3

Clay-Along Camps PUBLISHED |
Clay-Along Camp Kits bring you all the fun of a hands-on week of clay arts camp in a convenient, themed kit so that clay can be a part of your year in a reimagined and accessible way! Kits come complete with pre-recorded video lessons, 12 lbs of low-fire red clay, engobes (colored slips) for decoration, firings, and a guide for getting started and setting up a space for clay at home. Clay-Along with camp instructors as they guide your young clay enthusiasts through dynamic, creative clay projects through pre-recorded video and printed lessons. Kits can be followed independently by older kids (9 and up) but kids under 9 may need adult assistance. Choose your own adventure, or adventures, from our exciting variety of themed options below. Each includes at least five original project lessons. Kits can be picked up curbside at NCC. The details of kit pick-up at NCC will be communicated to you with your registration. Once your camper is finished with their Clay-Along quest, drop off their work at NCC and we’ll take care of firing and glazing. No clay-specific tools? No problem! Clay Club PUBLISHED |
Looking for a hands on activity for your student outside of distance learning this fall? NCC is offering safe, distanced in-person clay making experiences for kids 9 and up as an extracurricular creative activity to supplement our new virtual lives. Clay Club will meet once a week for four weeks with an NCC Teaching Artist who will guide students through a variety of wheel throwing and handbuilding projects. Clay Club participants will get to make bowls and cups on the wheel and explore adding handbuilt embellishments to their works. Thorough safety measures are in place for in-person classes; low class sizes (8 participants max), required masks and distancing inside the studios, and the sanitizing of studios each day. Ages 9 & up.
