Book your flight today to the Caribbean and the fascinating island of Haiti. In just five days you learn a variety of art techniques and create art inspired by Haitian artisans. Using cardboard, glue, paint and mylars, you create your own tap-tap vehicle, the most popular form of transportation on the island.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Next, you learn about the wildlife that inhabits Haiti, considered one of the most biodiverse regions of the world and home to manatees, dolphins, the nearly extinct Haitian solenodon, and all kinds of bats. Using a variety of different art media, your favorite animal comes alive. After lunch, you create a decorative bowl using papier mache technique and paint it with colorful images and patterns–a great gift. Finally, you learn the art of metal craft creating creatures unique to the Caribbean like the gecko, sea turtle and bullfrog.

Scholarships available.
