Maple Syrup Demonstration

Tapping of maple and other trees for syrup has been going on for hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans to North America.

Come out to Fort Ridgely State Park for a demonstration on tapping of maple trees. Meet on the Upper Picnic Shelter.
We will demonstrate what it takes to tap a tree, collect the sap and boil it to produce sweet syrup.
We will also talk about the history of tapping trees.
