The Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS, pronounced git-seez) opens doors to music learning and provides a pathway for students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Established in 1972, GTCYS is one of the region’s premier youth arts programs, serving more than 1,300 students ages 7-18 through our Harmony strings instruction program, Launch Lessons, 11 school-year orchestras, and summer camps. To increase access, GTCYS awards over $300,000 in need-based scholarships for tuition and private lessons each year.

GTCYS’ 11 school-year orchestras provide a rigorous and inspiring orchestral learning community for more than 900 beginning to pre-professional string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students each year.
