Farm to Fair Weekend

From state agricultural exhibitions to the annual State Fair today, farmers and their families have enjoyed entering foods and livestock in fairs for generations.

Explore the historic farmstead's "machinery hill" and sample some 1860s premium-winning recipes in the historic house's kitchen. At the Farm Lab, visitors can test their judge skills on vegetable entries, plus baked and canned goods.
In the Farm Lab barn discover how 4-H and FFA participants prepare to show their livestock at the fair. Plus, sample some snacks-on-a-stick in the Learning Kitchen and make crop art to take home.
