Fall Break Camps K-8 at Dodge Nature Center

Fall camps are full of energy and seasonal color. Send the kids on over to the nature center during MEA break October 17-18, 2019. The deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
To register:
1) Fill out one registration form per camper:

2) Select the camp you wish to sign up for under the Fall Camps
section and complete the corresponding payment form:

Thursday, Oct. 17 Grades K-1
Search for magical creatures on an adventure through the enchanted forest of Dodge. Learn the tricks and treasures of a host of magical animals and mythical creatures. In this adventure, fairy tales come to life with your imagination.

FARM, FOOD, FUN
Friday, Oct. 18 Grades K-1
The farm is busy with lots of work, but there is always time for some fun. Meet the animals and help with chores. Collect eggs in the chicken coop. Pick some apples and make cider. Don’t forget to jump in the hay and play some old-fashioned games.

OUTDOOR SKILLS
Friday, Oct. 18 Grades 2-4
Practice the skills that will make you an outdoor champ. Build a simple and snug survival shelter. This shelter will protect you from the elements and serve as your home base. Navigate your way through an orienteering course using a compass. Start a one-match (or no match) fire to keep you warm, cook food, and send signals. This camp will leave you ready for your next outdoor adventure.

STONE AGE TECHNOLOGY
Thursday, Oct. 17 Grades 5-8
Put away your smartphone, it’s time to learn the skills and technology of our ancestors. Try to make a fire using only friction. Learn how to make rope from natural fibers. Practice using an ancient spear thrower called an atlatl. Use stone blades for making sparks and cutting meat to roast over a fire. Don’t miss this journey back to the Stone Age, where history comes alive ($5 materials fee is included in this camp price.)
