We begin our adventure with our regional trees. What are they? What do their leaves look like? Why are trees important to our world? We will go on a learning walk to identify local trees, collect leaves to use in our gelli plate mono- printmaking and watercolor art, and will celebrate regional trees by creating botanical and recycled paper which we can use to create cards and gift tags, then create tree-inspired art.
Participants will take home:
* Knowledge about regional trees and the paper making/recycling process
* An Investigation Guide with tree identification guides, tree trivia, watercolor techniques and a guide to work with color
* Handmade botanical and recycled paper
* Monoprints, watercolor leaves, and tree-inspired art
Themes: Lake Minnetonka & Minnesota Ecology, Paper Engineering, Eco Art
