We are bringing back the MYS summer program! In this full-day program, students will participate in orchestra rehearsal, led by MYS conductor Patricia Kelly. During this session students will play a wide variety of repertoire and gain a large amount of experience.This fun and intensive environment with Maestra Kelly will give students a new skill set that will stay with them long after the camp is finished.
Tentative Schedule:
9-10:15am Large Group Rehearsal
10:30-11:15 Small Orchestra or Chamber Music
11:15-11:45 Lunch
11:45-12:45 Music History or Music Theory
1:00-2:00 Sectionals
2:00-3:00 Large Group Rehearsal
Performance on Friday, June 22nd from 2-3pm
Class Requirement: Level comparable to the middle of Suzuki (violin) book 2 up to book 5. Students should be able to play and read notes on all four strings with at least the first two finger patterns. Must understand basic concepts such as dynamics, bowings and key signatures D, G, and C major, and be able to count and read rhythms.
