Root Beer Run 1/2 or 1 mile

The Root Beer Run attracts people and their dogs from throughout the community who are active in our parks and who enjoy root beer with or without ice cream. Participants choose to run either a ½ mile or full mile and then receive root beer after they cross the finish line. 100% of all registration fees are donated to People for Parks.

Boom Island Park to Host Root Beer Run 2019 Sunday, May 12

activities and local food vendors

MINNEAPOLIS — This weekend, Boom Island Park will host Root Beer Run 2019, a popular Mother’s Day event now in its third year. Members of the news media are invited to attend.

WHAT:
Root Beer Run 2019 features a one-mile or 1/2-mile run, walk or stroll, with all participants receiving a root beer float at the finish line. It also includes:
Lawn games
Photo booth
Arts and crafts
Temporary tattoos
Inflatable jump house
Sunscreen station
Sensory friendly space
Food trucks from local vendors, including Tot Boss.

WHEN:
Sunday, May 12 at 1 p.m.
Registration/check-in begins at 12 p.m.

WHO:
Kids, families, parents, and dogs from throughout the Twin Cities area. People for Parks is proud to sponsor with Skyline Electric, Pumphouse Creamery, Apple Adventure Racing, and Shameless Inc. on this event.
