Class Experience
Spend a week at Forest School Camp!
Children will spend their days:
Exploring trails and hidden woodland spaces
Searching for insects and wildlife
Creating nature-inspired art
Learning outdoor skills
Building forts and imaginative play spaces
Enjoying stories, songs, and seasonal traditions
Making lasting friendships
At Milkweed Forest School, children learn through play, curiosity, and adventure in a nurturing outdoor environment. Together, we'll hike the woods, explore native prairies, read many stories, climb trees and enjoy the magic of screen-free, mixed age outdoor play.
Forest School has been offering year-round programming to children ages 0-10 for four years with weekly gatherings rooted in folk arts, hiking, music, storytelling, and collaborative creative practice.
Here at Milkweed Day Camp, we will:
Foster a deep connection with nature, as well as a sense of belonging in nature.
Weave warmth, reverence, and rhythm in our children’s learning experiences.
Build a diverse, inclusive community culture which is LGBTQ and BIPOC inclusive.
Engage with mixed-age participation which allows younger children to learn through observation while older children develop leadership and creative confidence within a supportive community setting.
