Lantern Lighting Celebration - Lakewood Cemetery

Lakewood’s 5th annual Lantern Lighting Celebration will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2019, 4:30-8:00 p.m. — it's an evening to gather with family, friends and community to honor and remember those we love and miss.

At this event, decorate a floating lantern with words of love and remembrance. As you decorate, enjoy live music and expansive views of the cemetery including Lakewood's lake, Jo Pond. Food vendors will be on hand with a variety of food and refreshments (for purchase).
At dusk we will light our lanterns and release them onto the lake in a beautiful ceremony. The effect is breathtaking and magical — connecting us to our loved ones and to each other.
Reserve a lantern(s) for $5 each in advance ($10 each at the door) using the ticketing link above. Each ticket reserves one lantern. You do not need a ticket to attend the event if you do not wish to decorate a lantern, though we encourage you to do so!
This event is open to the public — everyone is welcome to join us!
