Join us for a compelling Zoom program with the Danbury Library as Dr. Mitch Wagener from the Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences of Western Connecticut State University, delves into the intricate and interconnected stories behind some of history's most significant developments. This session will explore the relationships between the rise of cotton clothing, the invention of the cotton gin, and the dark legacy of enslaved humans in the US. We'll examine the impact of land dispossession and forced migration of Native peoples, the development of the modern financial system, and the technological advancements of the steam engine and coal mining in Wales during the Industrial Revolution.
