Fascinated by fungi but don’t know where to start? Join Tim Clemens of Ironwood Foraging Co. for this introduction to wild mushrooms, offered in connection with the exhibition Russia’s Native Mushrooms: Botanical Watercolors by Alexander Viazmensky. You’ll learn about several edible and toxic mushroom species in Minnesota, helpful terminology, where and when to find wild mushrooms, and how to safely begin your mushroom hunting journey. Explore the cultural roots of mushroom hunting, and make connections between traditional Russian foraging experiences and contemporary practice in Minnesota today.
