Who knew Lake Minnetonka was home to two legendary Amusement Parks? We start with an exploration of Big Island Excelsior Amusement Parks through maps, videos, photos, and historic postcards, then create our own 3D ferris wheel on a pop-up card, finishing by creating our own stop motion “puppets” and making stop motion movies around the theme of amusement parks. We hope you’ll ride along!
Participants will take home:
* Knowledge about the amusement parks on Big Island and in Excelsior
* An Investigation Guide featuring resources around stop motion, paper engineering, and trivia to share about the amusement parks
* Their 3D pop-up card of a ferris wheel that lights up or rotates
* Stop motion puppets and videos of their 2 stop motion projects
Themes: Kale Minnetonka History, Paper Engineering, STEM
