Project Purpose is a unique opportunity for young animal advocates to learn more about Animal Humane Society while empowering them to help make the world a better place for animals.
Project purpose is offered in three age groups for 3rd - 10th graders.
For children in grades 7-10, each session will include educational opportunities in animal welfare, daily tasks both AHS staff and volunteers complete, and participation in meaningful service projects. From providing animal enrichment and walking dogs, to supporting our veterinary services staff, this program offers students a behind-the-scenes look into working in animal welfare.
New this year, Project Purpose is available to children in grades 3-4 in Coon Rapids and 5-6 in Woodbury. While these young animal lovers won't participate in each of the same shelter tasks as 7-10th graders, they'll learn about AHS, complete service projects, and build enrichment activities for our shelter animals.
Project Purpose can also be used to fulfill school or club community service requirements.
