World of Pumpkins - Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 10/31/2021
Our annual World of Pumpkins display features more than 300 Cucurbita (pumpkins, squash and gourds) grown at the Arboretum’s Horticultural Research Center. “This was definitely one of the top years in terms of tonnage, mainly because of so many large pumpkin types grown,” says John Thull, who works on the pumpkin project with Jenny Thull. “The number of different varieties that grew was as big as ever. We had 318 varieties work this season.”
The pumpkins are on display throughout the Arboretum grounds, including a stunning pumpkin “tree,” which is styled like a large piece of candy corn with stripes of yellow, orange and white pumpkins.

The pumpkins, squash and gourds on display are remarkable for their wide range of size, texture and color -- including white, blue, green, brown, red and orange. Many of the varieties are also for sale at the Arboretum’s AppleHouse.
