4-6 YEAR OLDS

Students will sing, dance, and let their imaginations soar OUTSIDE this summer.

Each day of Summer Theatre Workshop for Ages 4-6 will highlight a new story, with a new jumping off point for dramatic adventure. Using our favorite books as our guide, we’ll create characters, and journey through different environments to tell stories using our “Actor Tools” – our bodies, voices, and imaginations!

Grown-ups are welcome to join us on the last day of class to share in our adventure and sing and dance-along with us as we celebrate a week of outdoor imaginative play.

GRADES 1-3

Students will play, discover and get creative OUTSIDE this summer.

Summer Theatre Workshop students in Grades 1-3 will develop theatre skills in a supportive, collaborative, and imaginative environment. Guided by professional teaching artists, students will work together as an ensemble to explore and expand their “Actor Toolbox” – their body, voice, and imagination.

Musical Theatre – As a part of each day of workshop, students will work with a professional Choreographer and Music Director to develop dancing & singing skills.

Acting – As a part of each day of the workshop, students will participate in Creative Drama & Improvisation classes, led by professional teaching artists.

GRADES 4-6

Students will cultivate, develop and hone theatrical skills OUTSIDE this summer.

Summer Theatre Workshop is a place for students in Grades 4-6 to explore and take risks as performers in a supportive, collaborative & imaginative environment. Guided by professional teaching artists, students will work together as an ensemble, using themes & material that excites them and pushes them to expand their skillset.

GRADES 7-12

Spend the summer with like-minded, ambitious, aspiring professional artists as you push yourself to go deeper, dedicating time to building & strengthening your technique. Join us for a series of classes taught by leading industry professionals designed to give students rigorous training. We welcome all levels of experience.

Classes for Grades 7-12 will take place at the Hopkins Center for the Arts (HCA), home of Stages Theatre Company. Classes will take place in the most well-ventilated spaces at the HCA, and masks and social distancing will be required at all times.

C.A.S.T. Summer Showtime - Ages 10-17

The C.A.S.T. (Creative, Accepting, Sensory-Friendly Theatre) Program for youth with Autism, or other Sensory sensitivities, is taking over the stage again this summer! Directed by CAST Lead Teachers and professional Theatre Artists, Peter Morrow & Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha, CAST students will work together to create and stage a production. Students will design sets, costumes, puppets and projections, adapt a script, and rehearse their parts, with the class culminating in a performance for family & friends!
