This collaboration between Writers & Books and the Flower City Arts Center provides a unique opportunity merging visual arts with creative writing. You will work with artists to handbuild a ceramic book—on which you will inscribe your own poem,  make paper, learn to make different kinds of books, and use letterpress printing techniques to decorate them. With a writer, you will play with language, learning how to use image, metaphor, simile, alliteration, line breaks, and more to write your own poems. This camp is a real hands-on experience taught by professional artists and writers who share “tricks of the trade” in ceramics, book arts, poetry, and creative writing. The camp culminates with a virtual art show and poetry reading.
