Dakota Day Camp - Gibbs Farm: Pathways to Dakota & Pioneer Life

This interactive camp is led by Gibbs Farm staff with input from members of the Dakota community. The camp focuses on historic Dakota seasonal rounds and includes mini language lessons, activities, and crafts. Campers will put up a small tipi, help to prep a deer hide for tanning, and make a beaded bracelet while learning about trade and decorating a wóžuha (bag).

Campers bring a bag lunch each day.
On Thursday, campers will hold an open house for their families. Open house begins at 12:30 and all family members are invited as our guests. Campers and their families are welcome to attend our Prairie Festival: Celebrating the Dakota, Past and Present on Saturday, August 3 free of charge.
